Vintage Spice Set

Just love all things vintage.......each piece always has so much character about them.  Every nook, cranny, and crevas, tells a story of a former life.  My favorite set of antique spice containers came from a consignment shop that used to be in Woodstock several years ago.  The shop name was Alida Lois and they had all kinds of high-end furniture and accessories that would make your head turn!  But they have since closed, so I will share with you one of the treasures I found there........this cute vintage spice set......

Each spice container looks like a book in an antique library......they are ready to spice up your life....literally!  <grin>

They even have the indention at the top like a library book.....

Lots of detail painted on the front of each one.

Even a mispelling or two.....you'll see the other one below.  And I never noticed it until I was photographing the set for this post....

Love the look of the volumn numbers at the bottom of each container......very quaint and elegant....like it's telling a fairytale.......

So they sit on the shelves in my kitchen by my collection of cookbooks and what nots........just too cute to use.  Actually, I'm afraid I'll break them <smile>.  And that's my treasure to share this week!

What is your favorite flea market or consignment shop find?  Would love to hear what that is!

  4. I used to own that exact spice set! I gave it away to a friend who wanted it so badly several years ago. It no longer matched my kitchen after I re-did it in cobalt blue. I miss my spice set though!

    Blessings

  5. Such a cute spice set. I have way to many favorite finds. That is the fun of the hunt. Usually the most recent is the favorite.
