Vintage Spice Set

Just love all things vintage.......each piece always has so much character about them.  Every nook, cranny, and crevas, tells a story of a former life.  My favorite set of antique spice containers came from a consignment shop that used to be in Woodstock several years ago.  The shop name was Alida Lois and they had all kinds of high-end furniture and accessories that would make your head turn!  But they have since closed, so I will share with you one of the treasures I found there........this cute vintage spice set......

Each spice container looks like a book in an antique library......they are ready to spice up your life....literally!  <grin>

They even have the indention at the top like a library book.....

Lots of detail painted on the front of each one.

Even a mispelling or'll see the other one below.  And I never noticed it until I was photographing the set for this post....

Love the look of the volumn numbers at the bottom of each container......very quaint and it's telling a fairytale.......

So they sit on the shelves in my kitchen by my collection of cookbooks and what nots........just too cute to use.  Actually, I'm afraid I'll break them <smile>.  And that's my treasure to share this week!

What is your favorite flea market or consignment shop find?  Would love to hear what that is!

  1. They are so sweet. Good find.
My favourite vintage find at the moment is my crystal based lamp, I found recently for $15. I love all of my finds really,it's just that's the favourite at the moment. x

  2. I love your spice set. I collected depression glass (Cobalt Moderntone) and loved the thrill of a new find! I only have a few treasured pieces now. I enjoyed reading your post and I would love for you to share your Spice Set at my party tomorrow!

  3. Those are the CUTEST I have ever seen. Great collection. Thanks so much for sharing with my newbie party.

  4. I used to own that exact spice set! I gave it away to a friend who wanted it so badly several years ago. It no longer matched my kitchen after I re-did it in cobalt blue. I miss my spice set though!

  5. Such a cute spice set. I have way to many favorite finds. That is the fun of the hunt. Usually the most recent is the favorite.

  6. These are adorable! You are so lucky to have them. Thanks for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
