English Tea Bargain

Was out and about hitting the flea markets this weekend and what did I spot?????......but these beautiful Johnson Brother's teacups........it was a mixed set....4 cups, 2 saucers, 1 bread plate, 1 small bowl.  A little chippy here and there.....but, oh, so charming........I picked the set up for $5.00!!!!  So I just mixed them all together and got this cute little tea set.....What a bargain!!!!

From one of my strolls thru a flea market, I found this beautiful gilded floral gold and white dessert plate.  The shape and markings are just gorgeous.....and it has found a new home on my dining room buffet. 

 

 

 

With a little research on the internet, I was able to determine that it was made by an earthenware manufacturer at the Bedford works, Shelton, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, in England.  Formerly - Ridgway Sparks & Ridgway  (1873-1879), which continued as Ridgways (Bedford Works) Ltd  (1920-1952).

 

 

The bow and quiver trade mark was first registered in 1880
> without any place mark c.1880-1885
> with "Stoke-on-Trent" c.1885-1890
> with "England" c.1891+
> With "England" "Royal Semi-Porcelain" c.1912+

Aren't the lines beautiful?

And the gilded scroll work....

Such detail and I just love the bows.....

Can't wait the use it at our next holiday dinner......

I think I can see some canoli's on this little pretty......what do you think?
